Now You Can Pay Toll Tax Through Official Mobile Apps - Nirmal Singh Lotus Green

Highway Authority of India has revealed that two new mobile apps will be released to make paying taxes on highways easier for the people.
FASTag, a reloadable tag, will be put on the windscreen of the vehicles. These tags will work on the RFID [radio frequency identification technology] – the tags will be linked to a single prepaid account from which the tax will be deducted automatically – the cars wouldn’t have to stop at toll booths. This step has been taken to minimize the cash transactions on the booths.

The authorities are working to make the highways and toll booths Tag friendly. Lanes of all the 371 National highways will be enabled for FASTags as early as October 1st.

Both MyFASTag and FASTag Partner are available for downloads. People who travel regularly through toll booths know how time consuming the whole thing can be. This is the reason we have released two apps. They will not make it easier for people to save time with automatic deduction but will also bring down the involvement of cash at the booths. There were many cases of the supervisors not providing receipts to the tax payers – that money went straight into their pockets. This problem will also be solved with tags.’ - Nirmal Singh Lotus Green

The chairman of NHAI, Deepak Kumar, said that people will be able to recharge their accounts with one simple click. He also mentioned that both the apps are available for Android and iOS.

Consumers will be able to recharge their accounts and purchase FASTags through the apps on their phone. The apps can also be used to keep track of the transactions. - Nirmal Singh Lotus Green
