UP Govt. Taking Strict Actions Against Banaras Hindu University, Reveals Nirmal Singh Lotus Green

It is also being reported that the position of the Vice-Chancellor of the university could be at risk.
It was only after the Prime Minister and President of the party in power asked about the incident on the eve of Saturday that the UP government decided to finally intervene in the case associated with the Banaras Hindu University. The case has been in the news for the past week and according to many involved, it was bloated out of proportion by the media. But the involvement of Narendra Modi tells a completely different story.

Nirmal Singh Lotus Green said that it was the District Magistrate of Varanasi who took upon himself to contact the BHU Registrar office to take all the necessary actions that could address the concerns of the female students of the university and so that the whole issue could be resolved immediately. During the whole incident, the position of the VC of Banaras Hindu University has come under negative spotlight – his position might be at risk after he failed to take control of the whole issue and couldn’t handle the scenario the way he should have.

On Saturday night, female students of the university organized a peaceful protest against the molestation of a fellow student – this wasn’t taken well by the authorities and the police force. Police lathicharged the students who were protesting outside the university and the authorities victim shamed the student who was molested; following this, the protest which was supposed to be a peaceful gathering turned into a violent one which also raised questions about the security of the university premise - Nirmal Singh Lotus Green

District Magistrate had to ask the authorities of the university to work according to the guidelines set up the Supreme Court and to constitute committees that can ensure the safety of the female students and to increase the amenities and facilities at the hostels so that similar incidents are not repeated in the future.
