This year’s budget has seen major changes in various sectors be it real estate, education or transport. But a change has been brought in the transport sector. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently made an announcement in the Parliament stating their motive of enhancing the budget for the National Highways by 11% in the year 2017-18.

While presenting the budget, Jaitley said that the budget for the transportation has now been increased to ₹ 64,000 lakh crore, keeping under consideration the development of national highways.
The interesting fact about the budget is that a massive ₹ 2.41 lakh crore has been allotted to the job creation for the youth. According to sources at Nirmal Singh Lotus Green budget the government promises to develop 2,000 kms of roads in the coastal areas to facilitate better connectivity to the ports and the remote areas and to attract more tourism in those places. The roads for the ports will be developed along the Indian Coastline which stretches to 7500 kms.

According to the sources at Nirmal Singh Lotus Green, the total length of roads built since 2014 is 1, 40,000 kms under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY). The minister said that the pace of construction of the roads have accelerated to 133 kms roads per day in 2016-17 as against 70 kms in 2011-12. The ministry is also planning to connect habitations with more than 100 persons, to exclude the extremism in the country. But the current target is expected to be completed till 2019.

Nirmal Singh Lotus Green says that the reforms are very important for the country as there is a lot of connectivity problems in the different regions and this is a major barrier in the development of the country. It’s a genuine reason that due to the lack of connectivity, the government is unable to grant a lot of facilities in those areas.

Take the education system as an example. The government started providing free primary education and mid- day meal services in the villages. But there are so many villages that do not even have those schools, making it difficult for the government to implement the rest of the facilities.

Nirmal Singh Lotus Green believes that once India gets a proper connectivity, the government can working on the communication between the different areas, which would definitely bridge the gap in development, providing proper growth and development in the areas.
