Jio soon to extend its network offerings as it plans to launch ₹ 500 phones to offer Jio services to people who still have their 2G sets and cannot but the sim due to the 4G restrictions. There are many people who would immediately switch over to the Jio sim if they have a 4G set, and due to the price ranges of those phones, are unable to switch over.

The reliance team had a meeting last week where the idea for the same was brought up. The feature phone is expected to be unveiled on July 21 in the annual general meeting of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance industries limited. Last year’s Jio launch had made it very difficult for the other networks in the country. This had disturbed the telecomm sector a lot. The competition was so tough for the other networks, they had to come up with new offers and cheaper packs to keep their existing users with them.
According to some trusted sources, Jio 4G feature phone is said to have a 2.4-inch display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD card support, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC.

Jio is already offering cheap smartphones under its brand Lyf. With prices set as low as ₹3000, competing with the prices of Micromax and Intex who had been giving 4G phones at cheaper rates. It has been named the fastest network, June 2017. And this would be the seventh time in a row that Jio has beaten all the other networks to be named as the fastest network in the country.
