Is Health License The Only Reason Behind The Hutting Of 43 Mcdonald Outlets?
Thursday newspaper came with a shock to the north Indians with the news about its favourite fast food chain shutting down 43 out of its 53 outlets. The news came out after some disagreements in CPRL i.e. the Connaught Plaza Restaurants, the joint venture of the US- headquarters McDonald’s and Vikram Bakshi that operates the fast food chain in north and east India. CPRL currently operates 168 restaurants, its former managing director said that it is really unfortunate that operations of 43 restaurants had to be suspended. According to Nirmal Singh Lotus Greens’ sources, the closing is done due to the failure to get the mandatory regulatory health licenses renewed because of the rift between Bakshi and McDonald’s. This step has left around 1,700 employees jobless.
